My Heart's at Home Daybook~ October 20
***
Outside My Window ...
City Hall Parking lot is all a-bustle with folks trying to get stuff done before the end of the month. Also, what few trees I can see are beginning … just beginning …. to turn colors
***
Towards a daily rhythm ...
I am attempting to get the menu under control so that we start eating cheaper and yet healthier. Who needs to buy a bunch of junk when you can make some great recipes from Dining On A Dime
***
I am thankful for ...
My baby boy. What a sweet, angelic little imp he is [and I mean the pun intentionally]. One minute he’s everything sweet and nice, saying “I love you all day long, Mama.”, the next I’m having to threaten him with time out if he tries to hit me again! I’d say he has MPD, but really, he’s just 3.

From the kitchen ...
I don’t know yet for tonight. I need it to be something quick though as I am working until 5:30 PM. I made a great Linguini Tutto Mare last week that will definitely reappear eventually, but I’m stumped for tonight. Maybe tacos, we haven’t had them in an age.
***
To live the liturgy...
My rector has suggested that the current economic crisis is God’s way of getting our attention. I think I need to begin making a real effort to pray my Rosary and that I need to do it in front of my angelic imp to start teaching him the wonders to be wrought from daily prayer.

I am wearing ...
a green knit top [read tee-shirt] with a teeny-tiny bleach stain and baggy, khaki pants.
***
I am creating ...
a huge pile of paperwork [seriously, I think I may be personally responsible for the destruction of at least 1 rain forest] that will hopefully help my collogues with future work.
***
Towards a real education ...
I am hoping to teach my boy his ABCs. He’s got the basics but is spotty on identification. We’re going to have to work on that.
***
Bringing beauty to my home ...
I will clean the floors tonight as an unspoken message of love to my beloved husband, who is much, much, much tidier than I.
***
I am reading ...
old cooking magazines. I am trying to purge the house of junk and I have too many piles. This is one of my piles and I’ve vowed no more cookbooks until I get this mess sorted out. Tom will be ecstatic if I can actually do it.
***
I am hoping ...
for another baby while being extremely grateful for the one with which I am blesses.
***
Around the house ...
I hope to begin a schedule of cleaning. More on that later.
***
One of my favorite things ...
crocuses, which The Boy and I planted Saturday. 59 of them. We’ll see how many the squirrels leave to bloom next spring.
***
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:
a movie date tonight with DH, a shopping date with him tomorrow

Here is a picture thought I am sharing~
Meerkats [Suricata suricata]. Way cute to my way of thinking. Did you know they are in the same family with the Mongoose?
